You don’t need to bring anything for your surf lesson! Mission Beach Surf School will provide everything you need, including the Surfboard, Wetsuit, UV Protection, Rash Guard and Leash. Just remember to dress comfortably and bring any personal items you might need, such as sunscreen and water.

No, not at all. Our surf lessons are designed for all skill levels, whether you’re a seasoned surfer or it’s your first time on a board. Our experienced instructors will guide you according to your ability, ensuring a fun and safe surfing experience.

Booking a surf lesson is easy! Just click on the “Book Now” button on our website. After that, you can choose the type of surf lesson you want. We’ll handle the rest, and our team will get in touch with you to confirm the details.

If you need to cancel your surf lesson, please do so 48 hours before the start time of your lesson to be eligible for a full refund. However, reservations made within 48 hours will not be refunded. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your lesson, you will be considered a No-Show, and no refunds will be provided. If you need to reschedule your lesson, you can do so within 48 hours Monday – Thursday for $35 per person. Please email us at pacificsurf@pacificsurf.org if you would like to reschedule your lesson. No phone calls will be accepted for rescheduling.

The typical duration of a surf lesson is 90 minutes. This includes time for instruction, getting geared up and plenty of surf time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your scheduled lesson to ensure you’re all set to go!

Yes, it is safe to surf in San Diego. While surfing does come with inherent risks, like any outdoor physical activity, our instructors are experienced and trained in ocean rescue and first aid, ensuring that every precaution is taken to maintain the safety of our students.

Our surf instructors are highly experienced. They are all Red Cross certified in CPR and have been trained in Ocean Rescue and First Aid. They have many years of teaching experience under their belts and are passionate about sharing their love of surfing.

Yes, we do offer surf lessons for children. However, for the safety and security of all of our students, the minimum age for surf lessons is five years old and they must be able to swim.
